About Hydrogen Chloride (HCL)
Hydrogen chloride (HCL) is a colorless, irritating, corrosive, and asphyxiating gas that is both volatile and unstable. As an important industrial chemical, HCL is used in the production of dyes, fragrances, pharmaceuticals, various chlorides, and corrosion inhibitors.
High-purity HCL gas is widely employed in the electronics industry. The gas has a suffocating odor and is highly irritating to the upper respiratory tract, with corrosive effects on eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. Continuous HCL concentration monitoring is essential to prevent leaks that could endanger personnel safety.
Maximum allowable concentrations: China (MAC) 15 mg/m³ (9.2 ppm); US TLV-C 7.5 mg/m³ (4.6 ppm).
Due to HCL's volatile and unstable nature, pump-type detectors that actively draw gas samples provide faster and more reliable detection.
The YT-98H is a built-in pump-suction single and multi-gas detector featuring IECEx and ATEX certification with non-contact magnetic wand design. Suitable for installation and operation in explosion-proof areas and the oil & gas industry, it offers 3-wire 4-20mA output with relays, plus HART and Modbus protocols for compatibility with most control systems. Optional wireless functionality enables remote data viewing on laptops, mobile phones, or cloud systems.
